Lao National Tourism Authority

It is a macro organization on tourism and tourism industry. It is a service agency to the government. Main duties and responsibilities are to prepare the laws, rules and regulations on the tourism and tourism industry, strategy on tourism development and promotion targeting in the National Socio Economics Development Plan.

Lao Authority for Tourism has also rights to administer, manage, and monitor the activities of the Tourism Operation Units as the policies and the laws specified.

The main policies are:

• Implement the opening policy on the foreign co-operation on economics and cultures with foreign nations.
• Promote the tourism and tourism industry intending to markup the levels of the people lives and to promote the integrated local productions.
• Promote the arts, culture, and traditions, to motivate foreigners to visit Laos.
• Provide new job occupation and create opportunity for the ethnic people to gain the better incomes.
• Enhance the friendship co-operation with all nations corresponded to the government policies on tourism specified.
